Artist Statement
As an artist and art therapist, I believe in the transformative power of creativity. My work emerges from the belief that magic resides in the liminal spaces—where the wild meets the tame, and the known intertwines with the unknown. Each piece I create is an exploration of these thresholds, inviting both the viewer and myself to trust the process and embrace the insights that arise.
In my art therapy practice, I prioritize the act of creation itself, recognizing that making art fosters a unique understanding of oneself. This isn’t merely a supplementary tool in therapy; it’s the heart of my approach. I facilitate a space where individuals can explore their emotions and thoughts through a variety of artistic mediums, empowering them to uncover the stories that reside within. Here, there is no need for prior experience—every voice matters, and every mark has significance.
Art, in my view, is not just about the finished product; it's about the journey of discovery. I stand as a guide, supporting my clients in navigating their creative paths while respecting their authority in interpreting their own work. Through this heart-and-art-centered methodology, I aim to cultivate an environment of love, acceptance, and genuine self-expression.
